This 500 m-long canal connects Lake Jamno with the Baltic Sea. Before the addition of a storm gate in 2013, it was possible to sail from the lake to the sea. The breakwater built at the mouth of the canal into the sea offers spectacular views of the forces of nature clashing with man-made objects. In the past, the canal was kept navigable by the inhabitants of a nearby village named Czajcze. At the time, the canal was called “Jamunder Tief”. In 1951, all villagers were displaced and Czajcze was converted into a military base.
