Lake Jamno
To the surprise of many people, Lake Jamno is the 9th largest lake in Poland. It is relatively shallow, with the average depth of just 1.5 metres.
Lake Jamno is connected to the Baltic Sea by a canal named “Jamieński Nurt”. In 2013, a storm gate was built in the canal to prevent influx of water from the sea, but there are plans to rebuild the canal so that sailing from Lake Jamno to the Baltic Sea is possible again.
The lake is very popular among water sports enthusiasts, particularly kite boarders and sailors, and often hosts regatta.
During the summer holidays, you can take a water tram through Lake Jamno, connecting Koszalin (harbour in Jamno), Unieście and Mielno.
