One of the smallest lakes around Koszalin, nested among picturesque forests and peat bogs, Lake Czarne is the favourite leisure destination for many people in the region. With clean water, beautiful sights and convenient access, the lake is frequently visited by local citizens on weekends and holidays. It is a perfect spot for a barbecue with family or friends. There is a beach, but there are no lifeguards on duty. One of the peculiarities of the lake are the deposits of medicinal peloid which gives the water a natural brown hue. The value of Lake Czarne was recognised even at the beginning of the 20th century when the local authorities decided to establish a nature reservoir to protect the peat bogs and coniferous swamps.
