Church of Transfiguration of Jesus in Mielno
The church is a Gothic temple built in the 15th century. There is some evidence that the building also had a defensive function, as suggested by the remains of what was likely moats surrounding the hill on which it stands.
Interestingly, the steeple is over 100 years younger than the main nave. The church underwent multiple reconstructions, the last major one in 1856 when a Gothic Revival chancel was added. The church walls were built with millstones - a popular construction material in Pomerania. Pieces of the stones can be found above the Gothic portal of the church steeple.
The temple is surrounded by a cemetery.
