The Land of Half-Timbered Walls is a loop starting and ending in Sianów by the church of St Stanislaus Kostka. The route will take you to the most impressive historical objects in the region built using the characteristic half-timbered technology.

Heading towards Węgorzewo Koszalińskie, you will go past Lake Topiele. In Węgorzewo, you can visit the lapidarium and the monument commemorating the locals killed in World War I, as well as a number of half-timbered houses. The route will then take you to Szczeglino, but it won’t be until Sowno that you will see the next half-timbered building – in this case, a 19 th -century church surrounded by old oaks. Immediately after Sowno, you will enter Przytok where you can see the remains of a 19 th -century mill complex. There is a rest stop with a shed and a bonfire site nearby – a perfect spot for a break, since Przytok is located exactly in the middle of the route.

Leaving Przytok, head towards Sieciemin, passing the “Sieciemińskie Rosiczki” nature reserve which protects four species of carnivorous, insect-eating sundews. Sieciemin has the largest cluster of half-timbered buildings on this trip. The last stop on the route of half-timbered walls is Karnieszewice and the church from 1803. This former Protestant temple has an interesting shingle roof, there is also a nice linden avenue nearby. From Karnieszewice, head to Kołzin and then back to Sianów. Along the way, you can also visit the 19 th -century arboretum, created in order to attempt to adapt exotic plants to grow in Pomerania, including a number of tree species rarely seen in the region.
