One of the curiosities related to the village of Chłopy is the 16th meridian that runs through it. Its location is marked by a large obelisk with a plaque - which is over 2 meters high and weighs 5 tons. The stone itself was excavated from a nearby field and transported to the designated place by the villagers. The initiator of its setting was the "Szesnasty Południk" association, which promotes the area and organizes cultural events. The obelisk marking the 16th meridian is of great interest. It is visited by both hikers and cyclists – probably because there are several hiking trails in its vicinity.
