The reserve located in the Karnieszewice Forest District was established in 1978. In the area of over 36 hectares there is an old fir forest with silver fir, which grows here, outside its natural range. The trunks of some of these age-old trees have a diameter of over 100 cm and a height of over 30 m. Fir protection is not the only objective of the reserve, it also takes care of individual species of bryophytes, including the endangered Whiskered Veilwort. Overall, 230 species of flora and 74 species of fauna can be found in this area.
