The “Megaliths in Borkowo” site is one of the most important archaeological findings in the region - it includes a megalithic cemetery from the Neolithic period, i.e. approx. 5 thousand years ago. You can also find sites from the Middle Ages here - out of 32 discoveries, however, half come from the era Before Christ. The most valuable monument are dolmens, which are the only tombs made of stone blocks in Poland, covered with huge boulders. The first research in this area was carried out in 1934 by Ernst Sprockhoff, a German prehistorian and researcher of megalithic structures.
