  • Address : ul. Grottgera, 78-200 Białogard

The High (Połczyn) Gate in Białogard is a historic structure from the early 14th century, which formed part of the town’s defensive walls. It was one of the two original town gates. It is a brick gate on a stone foundation with two storeys, measuring 10 m in height. It has a lancet passage arch. The vault features a metal stirrup which, according to legend, is a trophy from the 1469 “battle for the cow” between the residents of Białogard and Świdwin. The gate once served as the town jail and caretaker’s residence, and now houses an art gallery.
